Kar Lyar Mai was approx. 25 feet high (8 metres) and from head to ‘Parson’s Nose’ was 38 feet long. A team of 12 people were used inside and space was made available for 2 seats or one stretcher at base of neck as March of 1979 was hot. The Mural around the outside celebrated ‘International Year of the Child’ and was painted by the small schools of the shire in 12 different panels.
