KarDellaMai had a weight problem from the start. The 12 metres long legs that ‘jumped’ up and down were motivated by a Telecom Reel fitted with tyres. Once the monster started to move it was self motivating – the team inside were not allowed anywhere in the front as a pneumatic lever system took about a weight of 2 tons as it ‘fell’ to the ground. Without doubt this was the most dangerous of floats.
