In this gallery you will find some of my more recent Scale Models commissioned by State Bodies, Local Government Municipalities and Larger business ventures.
My first commission for a scale model was from the Caulfield City Council for the‘Century Swimming Pool’ proposal in 1969. Since that time others have included the first Scale Model of the ‘Coal Creek Historical Park’ at Korumburra and the South Gippsland Recreational Centre that for the first time revolutionised Topographical Feature Work by using Polyurethanes and expanded Foams that dispensed with the older method that was essentially based on ‘Potting” Plaster and would have been approx. 12 times heavier ‘weight for size’.
However due to the lack of pictorial data in the years when these were constructed I am (as of this time) unable to post these on this site at present.
My involvement with building Moomba Floats added a new dimension to Scale Modelling as the Moomba Board would not accept any floats after 1980 without a Scale Model mock up of the presentation. Prior to this their main expectation had been full working diagrams and dimensions due to the overhead wiring and Tram cables in the city along Swanston St. (See Karmai Gallery)
After exhaustive efforts we have ‘unearthed’ some very rare photographs of fully working Scale Models. A 48 (16 mts) foot long Grass Hopper, a similar size Blowfly and a giant Dragonfly all built at about a 1:48 scale.
At the end of this gallery I have included some electronic filming models that are to be used on a Sci Fi film ‘TERRAFORMS’©® with some of the stills using camera motion. Theses models are wired with a 6 volt system that provides a mini environment utilising Led crystals.
